A great pub to have a meal and watch the sport on the Strand. The staff are friendly and the location perfect. A little noisy if you are after a romantic dinner but that’s only to be expected.
The grilled Barra was delicious -
Great pub with a variety of areas, dog friendly out the front, good food which is very fairly priced, my regular lunch spot whilst in town for a steak ($16.90 for steak + chips + salad + gravy is a winner), good calamari too .

Very nice meals, everybody in our group of 9 was happy with the portion sizes and waiting times, is situated in a beautiful location, was picked by a local friend of our family because it has a excellent reputation I was told and bar no … More mash potato being available with meals instead of vegetables / salad, the meals were absolutely perfect.
Table service to bring out meals wasn't offered but that's the case in most areas of Townsville compared to Melbourne I personally found but they gave me a beeper device to notify us when to go up and collect our meals which worked well.
Oh, watch out for those dam scooter riders to, a young teenage girl ran into me on the footpath from behind as I was leaving but luckily I didn't get hurt. If it was a older member of our group though they would've needed urgent hospital treatment!!
